Mega-corporation "Daedalus Group" is under a terrorist attack by a small group of activists known as the Spirit of Icarus. During the treatment of the explosion victims, Black Jack meets Doctor Kiriko, also known as the Embodiment of Death, who instead of saving his patients, offers them a painless death. When the group of activists asks both doctors for cooperation, Black Jack finds himself caught in a whirlwind of life, death, and betrayal, trying to save his patients and prevent the start of a biological war that could destroy humanity.
