A high school student named Suzuko Homura has returned to Ikebukuro, the city where she grew up. The girl cherishes memories of her childhood friend, Chinatsus Morikawa, and is delighted at the prospect of meeting her again. However, when Suzuko enters her new school, she finds difficulties in communicating with her classmates. To resolve these issues and make friends, the protagonist intends to learn how to play the popular card game "WIXOSS". On her way home, Suzuko buys a card set at a card shop. When she opens it at home, one of the cards on the card starts moving and talking. It tells her that people selected as selectors must fight to control five coins that hold all their memories. If they can retrieve all the coins, they will win and be able to leave the game. But if they lose, they face the "Lostorage". What will happen to Suzuko and others like her, who have become trapped in this bizarre game? Meanwhile, just like Suzuko, Chinatsu also finds herself drawn into this game.
