The story takes place in the year 311 of the Orbital calendar, when humanity has relocated from Earth to space colonies. One fine day, Akiha Shishidou, a resident of the elite Kirkwood colony, is informed by her sister that she is about to meet her fiancé. Unwilling to accept this, Akiha hastily leaves the colony aboard a small spacecraft. She ends up in another colony controlled by the malevolent artificial intelligence Leopard. Akiha joins forces with Itsuki Kannagi, an officer of the inter-colonial police, the silent girl Honoka Kawai, and a robot who introduces himself as Imoko, to battle Leopard.
