Ryota was in love with his classmate Aiko, but he lacked the courage to confess his feelings to her. Oda seduced and took advantage of Aiko after she confessed her love to him. This became known to Aiko's social circle, and she was subsequently ridiculed. Defending Aiko's honor, Ryota assaulted Oda, which ultimately ended their friendship.
