Сигэмару's wife, Akiko, is an incredibly beautiful woman. The bandit is madly in love with her, and she skillfully uses this to make him fulfill her whims. During their meeting, Sighemaru carried her in his arms to their home, then searched for Akiko's hairpin that had fallen from the cliff. Akiko also refused to tolerate Sighemaru's polygamy and forced him to kill all his wives except the youngest, who later became Akiko's servant. At her insistence, they moved to the capital, where Akiko invented a new pastime for herself - collecting heads. Every night she asked Sighemaru to bring her the heads of certain people - a bald monk, a maid, and so on. She staged entire performances with these heads. Eventually, Sighemaru decides that she is a demon, and in a fit of madness, strangles her under the blossoming cherry trees.
