Такума's grandfather, and the head of the Vampire Council. Kaname lived with him for some time after the death of his parents. Asato wanted to adopt him, but Kaname refused. Ichiyo allowed his grandson to attend the Academy in order to keep an eye on Kaname. He is quite cunning and calculating. He would prefer to see Rido Kuran, rather than Kaname, as the head of the clan.
