Харуки's mother. Asuka works as a writer, illustrating her own works, although she is not very successful - the books she writes are not selling. Asuka leads mostly a nocturnal lifestyle, and when Haruka is already leaving for school, Asuka is usually still asleep. She is a cool and composed woman, especially in comparison to Miyuki, who believes in Haruka and is willing to allow her a fair amount, such as easily agreeing to the "bravery test".
