Kazuma, formerly Asuma's comrade believed to have died, is the leader of a team of shinobi from the Land of Fire who have been desecrating the tombs of renowned shinobi tasked with guarding the Daimyo. When Konoha shinobi investigate, Kazuma, using the Earth Style: Wheel of Fortune technique, sets a trap to confront his son Sora and provoke him to demonstrate the power sealed within him. Later, Kazuma and his team attack Konoha, but their plan ultimately fails. In the ensuing battle with Asuma, Kazuma, who had been operating under the name Furuido, is killed.
