Хидзири Синодзука

Kouyuki's classmate. Before Toru met Kouyuki, Hiziri was his only friend. His Iris allows him to see the approaching death of living beings. The less time someone has left to live, the more black butterflies fly around them. He wears long-sleeved shirts to hide the traces of his unsuccessful suicide attempts. He becomes Toru's friend in high school after Mizushima helps him prevent the death of a girl dear to him.
