Takeshi's younger brother and the second-born child of Muno and Mizuho. When Takeshi returned from Johto and found that his mother and her water Pokémon had occupied the gym, Takeshi decided to put Jiro in charge of managing the gym in his stead. Takeshi's valuable Onix Pokémon assists Jiro. Jiro took very good care of Onix, and as a result, it evolved into Steelix.
