He receives a card with the key to a secret Kaiba Corporation room, which leads to his kidnapping by Pegasus J. Crawford. In the first season, he loses to Yugi in Duel Monsters. In Duel Monsters, during the tournament qualifiers, he steals stars from other players, but is caught and convinced by Yugi to return them.
