Сутэмару

Childhood friend of Kaguya. A simple peasant boy, born and raised in the same village as her. Sutemaru was the oldest among the village children, so as their unofficial leader, he constantly looked after them. He is a good-natured, reliable, and responsible guy with a sturdy build. When the young man was forced to leave his native village and settle in the city, he had to break the law and commit petty thefts in order to survive. Perhaps Sutemaru had romantic feelings for Kaguya, but when he returned to his native village after many years, he already had a wife and child.
