Nyaruko, a former Cthulhu god of chaos, can transform into an ordinary-looking girl with grey hair. Mahiro Yasaka, a high school student, was once saved by Nyaruko from the pursuit of a sinister alien. Nyaruko revealed that the creatures from H.P. Lovecraft's works represent an alien race, and she was sent to Earth to protect Mahiro from being abducted by an alien merchant. Eventually, Nyaruko and two other Lovecraftian beings, Cthugha and Hastur, become dependents of Mahiro.
