The collection "Black Rain Victims" includes stories that Keiji Nakazawa drew in the late 1960s, when there was an unspoken taboo in Japanese society on mentioning the tragedies in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Nakazawa was one of the first authors in Japan who dared to tell the stories of the victims of the atomic bombing, who even decades later could not return to a normal life. These heavy and sometimes cruel stories can now be perceived ambiguously, but they give an excellent idea of the emotional state Keiji Nakazawa was in at the time.
